Save JetBrains AI Assistant and Junie chat history
VibeHub connects its MCP server to JetBrains AI Assistant and Junie in IntelliJ IDEA, WebStorm, PyCharm, GoLand, and other JetBrains IDEs (2025.1+). The in-IDE agent can then store conversation transcripts in VibeHub and attach them to commits.
Set it up
Paste into Settings → Tools → AI Assistant → MCP (As JSON)
{
"mcpServers": {
"vibehub": {
"command": "npx",
"args": ["-y", "vibehub-mcp"],
"env": {
"VIBEHUB_API_URL": "https://vibehub.co",
"VIBEHUB_TOKEN": "vbh_REPLACE_ME"
}
}
}
}What gets captured
- AI Assistant and Junie conversation transcripts, as VibeHub sessions
- Links between those transcripts and your git commits
How it works
Generate a token in the VibeHub dashboard (Settings → API tokens).
Open Settings → Tools → AI Assistant → Model Context Protocol (MCP) (for Junie: Settings → Tools → Junie → MCP Settings), click Add, switch to As JSON, and paste the config with your token.
Apply — the vibehub server should show a green status with its tools.
Ask the agent to “save this conversation to VibeHub” or “capture this commit with the transcript” and it calls the vibehub_* tools.
JetBrains + VibeHub FAQ
- Is there a CLI installer for JetBrains?
- No. JetBrains configures MCP through the IDE UI rather than a well-known file, so setup is a one-time paste of the JSON config.
- What do I need installed?
- Node.js 18+ on your PATH — the server runs via
npx -y vibehub-mcp— and a JetBrains IDE at 2025.1 or later.
